Follicular dendritic cells are a major reservoir for antigen, crucial for the formation of germinal centers.
They are the major source of the B cell attractant CXCL13). In addition, they are the source of B cell activating factor (BAFF) and the cytokines IL-6 and IL-10, which modulate the differentiation of B cells and T follicular helper cells within the germinal center.
